Stephen was the first person killed for placing faith in Jesus Christ. He was one of the first seven deacons of the Church, and although his call was to proclaim the good news of Jesus boldly by tending to those in need, he also proclaimed Jesus boldly with his words. This story teaches us that we shouldn’t be afraid to speak the truth, even if doing so can be costly.
