The popular axiom that “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” does not apply to how God can and does change followers of Jesus for the better, either through a slow process of growth, or through dramatic leaps and bounds. We know the story of Jesus is true, since God is still changing people in Jesus’s name today, 2,000 years after Jesus walked the Earth.
