We are here right now. The church of Jesus Christ did not come out of thin air. It had a beginning, and that beginning was sparked by power events that changed the course of history: Jesus was killed on a cross, Jesus rose from the dead, people witnessed and encountered the resurrected Jesus, and the church was filled with the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. These were real events that led to the church existing today.
