Cornelius, a centurion in the Roman army, saw a vision to meet the Apostle Peter to learn about Jesus. The next day, Peter had a vision from God that it was acceptable for him to eat unkosher food if necessary. While Peter was pondering the puzzling vision, Cornelius’s representative arrived at his dwelling to ask him to meet with Cornelius. We learn through these events that God’s good news is meant for people of all nations and not just a select group of people.
