Sunday School Teachers & Assistants: Sunday School resumed on September 19. Teachers and assistants are encouraged to communicate via the Members Only section of the website and may sign up for weekly teaching assignments HERE.
Stephen Ministers: Stephen Ministers receive training and assignments for ministry. We are renewing and expanding our ministry team, contact the office if you are interested in learning more.
WINGS (Women In God's Service) counts every BSLC woman and young woman as “member” participants. We offer women’s events and programs, even in this near “post-covid” era. Please offer your fresh ideas, perspective, and time by volunteering to become part of the planning and governing board. Red Cross: The Red Cross is experiencing a blood shortage. To schedule an appointment to donate blood go to RedCross.org.
Front Office Team: If you have a passion to serve and love God's people this is a great place for you. Reception, general office duties, organizing, filing, copying, data entry and mailings are just some of the things you can do in this volunteer position. Contact Helen at (248) 646-5041, ext. 110.
Stewardship Team: Our Stewardship Team will soon be planning for our fall campaign. Use your finance, marketing or creative skills to help grow the church and our ministries. For more information contact Jim Kershner or Tom Ingram via the church office.
Tanzania Ministry Liaison: For many years, BSLC has had a support partnership with Gendabi Lutheran Church in Tanzania. We support the Gendabi financially and both congregations support each other spiritually. Part of that support is an exchange of communications several times a year with Pastor Magang at Gendabi, updating the activities of the two congregations. We are in need of a person to be our new Tanzania Ministry Liaison. If you are interested, contact Pastor Nik. A big thank you to Nancy Dakin, who is stepping away from this ministry, but served faithfully for many years in this capacity.
Website Tech Team: We are seeking new members to join our website team for a few specific, weekly update needs. We use a Wix website and can train you and provide assistance as needed. If you are comfortable using new technology, this is a great place to volunteer from the comfort or your home or office. Team members are needed to track our online attendance, work on some video editing and entering events into our blog. You can work on one of these or learn to do it all. 9:00 a.m. Indoor Ushers: We are now offering 30 minute private training sessions for new ushers at your convenience. We will teach you how to help open the sanctuary, distribute our sealed Holy Communion kits, and seat/dismiss the congregation. We have put new sanitary measures in place to keep you and our members/guests safer and healthier. Current ushers may schedule themselves HERE.
9:00 a.m. Worship Greeters: Three greeters are needed each week to say hello and answer any questions. You can train on the job any Sunday morning at 8:40 a.m. Simply let us know ahead of time that you would like to train for this. Current greeters may schedule themselves HERE.
Scripture Readers at needed to participate in our weekly worship services. Scripture will be assigned ahead of time, giving you ample time to practice your oration skills. Prayer Team: Each Sunday morning, the Prayer Team, in their own spaces, prays for the mission of our church, for our worship team and for worship itself. They pray for all of those who watch or participate and they ask the Holy Spirit to bless all who worship with us and to guide those who have yet to meet Christ into ministry. If you would like to join the team in slots between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., please contact the church office.
Bulletin Board Designers: We have the information and the supplies. You have the inspiration! This is an occasional volunteer opportunity that can be done on your schedule. Now that we are regathering in the building, let’s utilize our bulletin boards to give our members and guests the information they need to be better connected.
