Summer Sunday School Assembly Team - A Heartfelt Thank You!!
Our Faith Kits are in the hands of 118 children, thanks to the focused, steadfast work of 50 creative, generous volunteers who worked behind the scenes for over 350 hours to make our Kids Ministry Summer Take-Home Faith Kits a reality!
Who received the kits?
89 children, grandchildren, and friends of BSLC
13 children from our church neighbors across the street at St. Stephen’s Episcopal
7 children from Good Samaritan Lutheran in Pontiac, and
9 children from Micah 6 Church in Pontiac
Our kits featured a 4 lesson study of Baby Moses and a 4 lesson study of David and Goliath. Each kit included family devotions and prayer, bible study with discussion questions and lesson-related crafts and activities. Our theme for the summer is “Into the Unknown” … where we strived to make God’s love and protection for us known! Click HERE to learn more about our kits.

Welcome New Church Council Members
We are blessed to have new Council Members, who were voted in at our Congregational Meeting last week along with current Council members who have agreed to serve a 2nd term. Please be sure to welcome them and thank them for serving: Tom Barlow (1st Term), Mike Cunningham (2nd Term Secretary), Kathy Moede (2nd Term), Shelley Beck (1st Term) and Cheryl Gonda (1st Term). We are also grateful for the continued service of Council Members Roxanne Wenskay (President), Kristin Albani, Bob Hoffman, and Cheryl Jehowski. Thank you to outgoing Council Members Brian Rusher (Vice President), Mike Stefaniak and Tom Ingram for their years of service.

Tanzania Ministry Liaison, Nancy Dakin
For many years, BSLC has had a support partnership with Gendabi Lutheran Church in Tanzania. We support the Gendabi financially and both congregations support each other spiritually. Part of that support is an exchange of communications several times a year with Pastor Magang at Gendabi, updating the activities of the two congregations. A big thank you to Nancy Dakin, who is stepping away from this ministry, but served faithfully for many years in this capacity.

I was pleasantly surprised at the show of recognition from the congregation on Sunday, May 2, 2021 for my volunteer work as Financial Secretary of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church (BSLC). I want to thank the congregation for their support and warm wishes. It has been a pleasure and rewarding experience to serve BSLC these past few years.

Thank You For Feeding the Hungry
Thank you, BSLC Congregation for all of your hard work this week and for the financial contributions you made to help us purchase the necessary food for this project. If you were on the prep team, driving team or planning team, you made a difference in the lives of the South Oakland Shelter clients this week. A huge thank you to James Kaiser who, with our volunteers, catered some amazing meals for them. It was a blessing to see all of the love poured into every "from scratch" dish that was prepared and they enjoyed things such as shrimp & grits, shepherd's pie and a picnic day along with dessert treats made by our youth kids and some of our gifted bakers. Also thank you to Nancy Geik who headed this project up and spent weeks making sure every detail was in place. To the entire team - know that people felt the love of Jesus through your hard work.
