Personal success can lead to the belief we ourselves are God, that our security and value rests in our own wisdom and strength. Today, we hear the story of a successful general named Naaman and how he was too proud at first to follow the direction of God’s prophet, Elisha, in order to be healed. He eventually set aside his pride, followed Elisha’s command, and was restored.
