Inclement Weather Procedure for Worship

We want to provide you the most up-to-date information about how to proceed with outdoor worship if there are storms or other inclement weather on a Sunday morning. For example, on Sunday, August 16, we needed to cancel outdoor worship for 9:00 a.m. due to lightning, but there were blue skies and worship at 10:30 a.m. that same day. The following is what we have set in place:

  1. If there is lightning, thunder, hail, a tornado watch/warning, or high-speed wind advisory, we will not have outdoor worship during the time those things are happening.

  2. If it is lightly raining without lightning and thunder, we will proceed with outdoor worship, but people will remain in their vehicles.

  3. If we decide to cancel worship due to poor weather, we will send a church wide email informing you of this change as soon as possible.

  4. If we decide to cancel worship due to poor weather, we will post this change on the church Facebook page as soon as possible. This is a good time to go to the BSLC Facebook page, “like” it, and “follow” it so that you can be informed as quickly as possible. CLICK HERE to go the Beautiful Savior Facebook page.

  5. If you do not have a computer, you are welcome to call the church office at 248-646-5041; the voicemail message will be updated as soon as possible if there is a change in worship services due to poor weather.

  6. Online worship has grown to be a permanent ministry of Beautiful Savior, so when one or both outdoors services are called off for a day, worship is still available at the Beautiful Savior website. CLICK HERE for the Beautiful Savior website worship page.

  7. Unless the weather is so severe that it poses a safety issue to be in the building, or it is so obvious that worship will not be taking place, Beautiful Savior staff will be onsite and in the office to answer telephone calls. Please feel free to leave a voicemail if necessary and we will return the message as soon as possible.
