August 2, 2026 Summer in the Psalms: “Create in Me a Clean Heart, O God”

Psalm 51 gives voice to the deep need for mercy, cleansing, and renewal before God. In John 3, Nicodemus came to Jesus by night and learned that new life comes by being born from above, through the work of the Spirit. Together, these readings point beyond surface-level change toward the creating and renewing work only God can do. God does not merely improve what is old; God creates clean hearts, renews weary spirits, and brings new life.
