Psalm 103 praises the LORD as merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. In Luke 15, Jesus told of a father who ran to meet his lost son with compassion, forgiveness, and joy. Together, these readings reveal the heart of God, who knows our weakness, forgives our sin, and welcomes us home in mercy. God’s goodness is not distant or abstract; it meets us with compassion and restores us to life.
