In today’s story, Jesus’s followers saw him not as a ghost, but in a glorified, resurrection body. Resurrection is not resuscitation, and it is not an ethereal apparition of our former selves. When we are resurrected, we become “more real” than we are right now, living eternally in a form that no longer carries the burdens and pains that the world has caused us. The beauty of this resurrection power is that we don’t have to wait to die to experience it. It’s available to us this very day.
