Children’s Education

Spiritual development is a core component of our mission at Beautiful Savior. Our aim is that our young people have fun and learn all they can about Jesus’ love in a safe and open environment. Our classes offer an hour of high-energy, age-appropriate Bible learning that includes song, activities and creative education. All classes begin in September at the beginning of the school year.

Middle School Confirmation Instruction

Middle School students (Grades 7 – 8) meet the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.

This year we are focusing on the Lord’s Prayer, The Apostle’s Creed, and a few Christian living topics.

We want our young people to experience all aspects of the Christian faith from reading and understanding scripture to learning our Christian and Lutheran history and what it means to apply it in their daily lives. Our confirmation instruction prepares our middle school students to become adult members of our Christian community.

Pastor Mark Behenna and Michelle Ketepa use multi-media, interactive learning, technology and the Here We Stand curriculum to lead these discovery classes.  Together our young students are encouraged and supported as they explore their faith and solidify their understanding of being Christian.

The program includes two years of study in the Bible and the Lutheran Catechism. Time together also includes explorations in worship, prayer, ministry and fellowship.  A variety of fun activities are planned for the year, including service projects, outings and gatherings and confirmation camp.

High School 9 – 12 Graders

High School Students meet Sunday mornings at 10:15 a.m. in the Senior High Youth Room for – Hot Topic.

The high school program at Beautiful Savior is for students in the ninth – twelfth grades. We understand that high school presents a lot of challenges for our youth members, so our program presents God’s teachings in a way that is meaningful and reflects issues that matter to them.  We call this Hot Topic.  Weekly we discuss issues or participate in activities relevant to our teens today, using a “think-outside-the-box” approach.

We work to provide an environment where your student can leave behind the stresses of teenaged life and feel supported, accepted and encouraged. We know that this is a time when teens begin to seriously question their beliefs and need a place where they can safely ask questions and express their feelings.

Our goal is to provide that space and help teens grow spiritually through friendship, community and God’s love. High school students can also expect to participate in a variety of special activities and events, including mission trips, concerts, plays, fundraisers and more.
