Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2, NRSV).
Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations. Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
A Stephen Minister comes alongside a hurting person and meets with that person on a regular basis to listen, care, encourage, pray, and provide emotional and spiritual support. Men are paired with men; women with women.
Over the years, well over one-and-a-half million people have benefited from the one-to-one, Christ-centered care of a Stephen Minister. This care is entirely confidential—no one knows the identity of a care receiver except for his or her Stephen Minister and the pastor or Stephen Leader who paired the two together.
At Beautiful Savior, we are blessed to have a strong Stephen Ministry program. We have many loving, experienced and compassionate Stephen Ministers ready to help. Our confidential team of Stephen Ministers have received over 50 hours of training to prepare them to reach out and help others in crisis.
To give you an idea of when you might need the help of a Stephen Minister, have you recently experienced:
- The loss of a loved one
- Job loss
- Fractured relationships
- Changes in life circumstances that are overwhelming
- And, anything else that life might have thrown your way
If you would like to discuss your situation in a confidential and loving setting, please contact Connie McKee at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or, you can contact the church office at 248-646-5041 and speak to Pastor Behenna.
