Interim Pastor
Bill Kirch-Carr

Welcome Interim Pastor Bill Kirsh-Carr!  Pastor Bill grew up in Lincoln and Columbus, Nebraska.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Creighton University in Omaha.  Pastor Bill went on to attend the Lutheran School of Theology.  Pr.  Bill has served a number of congregations in the Southeast Michigan Synod (SEMI), including two other interim assignments – Christ in Sterling Heights and St. Thomas on Grosse Ile, from which he comes to us.  He has been working on a master’s in Counseling through Central Michigan University, and has received field experience in counseling at Samaritan Counseling Center in Farmington Hills, and Catholic Charities in Flint.  Pastor Bill has participated in several mission trips, including three to Haiti, one in Cuba, and soon will participate in a hurricane relief trip to Puerto Rico.  When asked what inspires him for ministry and counseling, he said both derive from the same principle: “Every human being is valued and loved by God, and every human being has worth.”

Michelle Ketepa

Serving in youth and family ministry for the past 20 years, Michelle has a passion for bringing people of different ages together in order to experience and share the gospel together.  When we worship, serve, and learn together the experience is richer than we could ever imagine!

Joining the team at BSLC in 2013, she previously served congregations in Dallas, Texas; Savannah, Georgia; and Valparaiso, Indiana.  A native of Saginaw, Michelle and her family are happy to be back in Michigan to be close to family.

Michelle has a Bachelor of Education from Western Michigan University, with further training in youth and education ministry.  In recent years she has been active with others who work in Cross+generational ministry, occasionally serving as a speaker or mentor on the topic with colleagues.

Julie Steinmayer has been with Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church as Director of Music since 2010.

At Beautiful Savior, we are blessed to have many members who feel called to serve God through worship leading in the Senior Choir, Handbell Choir and Contemporary Worship Team. Director, Early Learning Center
Dawn Carene

Dawn Carene serves as our Center Director at Beautiful Savior Early Learning Center.  Since beginning her career at BSELC in 2002, she has served as the lead teacher in the older toddler room, assistant director, lead teacher in the preschool classroom and has been the Director since 2009.

Before joining our team, Dawn had the pleasure of teaching kindergarten for five years and then continued her career in early childhood where she served as Director/Preschool Teacher of another early learning center in Birmingham.

Dawn has earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Ed. from Wayne State University.  She holds a permanent teaching certification from the State of Michigan grades K-8.

Dawn also holds a certification from Michigan State University in the area of Child Care Administration.  She has earned a Master’s degree in Education with a Specialization in Teacher Leadership.

Lori Gillham

Lori joined the BSLC team in 2018 as the Office Manager.

Carol joined the BSLC team in 2018 as Bookkeeper and Treasurer.
